DIY isolators and bass traps customized for my SVS 16-46PC+ subwoofers. Constructed of 18" diameter pine, 2" insulating foam, 2" rigid fiberglass, and black felt. Total construction time approximately 2.5 hours.

Insulating Foam Cuts

The foam will isolate the riser from the floor. Using a fine-tooth hand saw, I cut the 2" insulating foam into roughly measured wedges, 4" at the widest part.

The semi-rigid fiberglass will absorb some sound. The 2" rigid fiberglass was cut into 9"x15" rectangles using a fine-tooth hand saw, and then glued into the center area using liquid nails.

The beginning of the felt wrapping process. The sewing will be done on the top of the isolator, as the bottom should remain level and my subs already have little feet so minor imperfections will not matter.

The felt wrap with two sides sewn together. Somewhat like wrapping a gift, the felt does not need to be wide enough to completely cover in one direction. The felt coming from the other ends will cover the bare area.
